Residential Roofing

Re-roofing is the process of replacing your old roof / roofing materials with a complete new roof system.  Most homeowners won’t realize that they need a new roof until they spot a leak in their ceiling.  Other signs that indicate you may need a new roof include:

  • The age of your roof.  A typical roof will last between 20 and 25 years. If your roof is older than 20 years, chances are you need a new roof.

  • Curled shingles.  Shingles that are curled are shingles that are past their life expectancy and need replacing.

  • Cracks / Cracking.  Cracks are likely a result of wind damage. A crack is highly susceptible to breaking of material and exposing unprotected roof deck.

  • Missing shingles in the roof valley.  Valleys are an extremely important area of your roof.  If your shingles are falling apart or missing in this area, it’s definitely a sign that you need a new roof.

  • You can see sunlight coming in from your attic.  If light can get inside, then so can rain, cold air and snow.

  • The roof feels spongy.  If you notice a spongy feel when walking on the roof, this means the underlying decking has become weak from moisture and your roof needs to be replaced — now.
